Removing the Ads

On the question of the ads....

Guys n Gals I have to at least stay solvent and at the moment Rack111 is not. The ads just about pay for the servers.
I propose a small charge to remove the ads which will help the cause. I think a $15 annual charge is about right. This would also enable me to upgrade the servers when needed. Of course if you don't mind the ads then you can stay as you are.
We are well aware of the ad problem to some of you guys and hope the above solution may resolve it.

I along with my support staff are striving to make Rack111 the best host around with the fastest servers and will continue to improve the service.

Payment ($15) to remove the ad can be made via Paypal to payment@rack111.com - Once made the ad will be removed immediately

Regards
JohnT & Rack111 Staff

PS:  The paypal ID has been updated - please note [eddieT]

Re: Removing the Ads

May I suggest something? I don't mind the ads cause its a very small ad bar and it help for the server which keeps this excelent hosting alive. I was wondering if a Referal system could maybe be placed in? Like some extra features for "x" amount of referals. I just thought caus ethe more people start using the hosting the more ads will be clicked the more money and the more successful service.  Wink Thanks for the hosting by the way! Its great!

Re: Removing the Ads

Well, I love the ad removal idea Smiley

Some need ads off their sites and this is a great way to do it. Also $15 is really a great save compared to other services that don't even offer what Rack111 offers.

I don't mind the $15 fee and hope it stays that way for a long time.

Consider me a member for life with this services as long as it stays this way Smiley

I am currently looking for a referral mod for SMF 1.1.5 I have found one but it involved A LOT of code changing and modification. I tried it out on a test forum I installed and it crashed the whole forum, so I do not want to attempt it here. So when I find a mod that works and JohnT approves it, we will have a referral system. Also we will discuss what to offer for X number of referrals, so stayed tuned to the forum for these details.

Re: Removing the Ads

Yeah, it is OK.

The Ads is not a big deal, I like it to be there.

Re: Removing the Ads

Well, everybody so happy with adds and I got none  Huh

Seriously: I received the mail warning that if I "do not have a legitimate index page with our single line text at the footer" then my "account will be deleted without notice or communication". I assume that's the "buck-line" that makes everybody rejoice Grin

So, what is it??? Please answer fast, before someone finds out, and pssssst! - don't tell anybody... Roll Eyes

Re: Removing the Ads

Hi, im a new user. I just install xoops to the root directory then i found that the ads is gone, is it ok if i paste back the ads code to the page?

I think it's fair to have some ads for free hosting.
